They say it's "good luck" if it rains on your wedding day. But, try telling that to a bride with her heart set on getting married outside at Chatham Bars Inn. As I started portraits with Katie and the girls before the ceremony, the rain drops started. I did my usual "it's fine, it's just a few drops" keep shooting routine. But then.... monsoon. I'm talking massive rain storm. And it was that crucial wedding day moment where you have to decide: move the ceremony inside. I could see the disappointment on Katie's face. And as we stood in the main building at Chatham Bars Inn, minutes (I mean minutes) before the ceremony was set to start, it stopped raining and Katie made the risky call to move the ceremony back outside. I have to admit I doubted her decision. Actually, she asked me if I thought the move was a good idea and I'm pretty sure my response was something along the lines of "ummmm.... not really." It still makes me laugh when I think about it, but I had to be honest. It was that kind of day where the skies could have opened at any minute. But hey, when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Typically, I don't like being wrong, but in this case I couldn't have been happier that Katie totally ignored my opinion! haha...  
Katie & Joe, I'm so happy for the two of you and I'm so happy you got your beautiful outdoor ceremony! It was so much fun to capture these moments for you!
